Christ Community is committed to being a church that prays together. Every corporate time of worship we seek God in prayer. Every time our leadership gathers, we seek God in prayer. Every time our small groups gather, they seek God in prayer. Prayer is a vital means of grace for every follower of Christ and must be an integral part of the life of our church.

Sunday Worship Prayer Teams

Every Sunday immediately following our worship service we have an elder-led prayer team of men and women available to pray with anyone who desires prayer that morning. So often as we experience true worship, God’s Spirit moves in our own spirit and convinces us or leads us to seek him more deeply. Or sometimes we carry burdens that need to be shared regarding ourselves or those we love. Often we need others in the body of Christ to come alongside and pray with and for our needs. If you would like to become a participant on a prayer team once a month, please contact your Shepherding elder or Pastor Cameron Barham so you can join the ministry of prayer on Sunday mornings.

Elder Prayer for Healing

James 5:13-15 says “Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.” The elders of CCC are called to shepherd the body through the ministry of the Word and prayer. Whenever someone with a physical, emotional, or spiritual healing desires to have the elders pray over them and anoint them with oil, the elders seek to meet such need. If you would like to have the elders pray over you, please contact your Shepherding elder or Pastor Cameron Barham so it can be arranged.

Seasons of Prayer and Fasting

As God leads and reveals himself, the elders will call the body of our church to a focused season of prayer. This might be a single event or extended time period of prayer. Many will choose to also fast as they seek God in intercessory prayer.

Prayer Walks

We encourage you to get out and talk a prayer walk in your neighborhood, at work at lunch or on a break, in the park, or wherever you feel led walk and pray for the people and institutions in that area.
