My name is Mike and my wife's name is Charlotte. We have three daughters - Emily and Hannah (the twins), and Sophie. I was raised in Knoxville, Tenn., and upon graduating high school received a football scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University. After my freshman year, God gripped my heart in such a way as to create a desire to serve him full time. So I transferred to a Bible college to finish my undergraduate studies and to prepare for the ministry. Soon after college I married Charlotte and we began a fruitful period of youth ministry at a church in Ormond Beach, Fla. Five years later, God placed a call on our hearts to attend Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. During our senior year in seminary, my wife and I attended a church planting assessment where we were affirmed in our gifts and calling towards church planting. We were encouraged, but knew we needed moretraining.Upongraduating from RTS, I received a call fromPerimeterChurch in Duluth, Ga., to be an assistant pastor.Perimeter is one of the most innovative and progressive churches in the country and it was a great opportunity for us to serve and learn. The experience and training was immeasurable in preparing us for this new work! In January 2000, we began to seek the necessary prayer and financial support to start this new church. God was faithful to meet our goal abundantly in resources and we moved to northwest Cobb County in September 2000. We desire to see God raise up a new church in the northwest Atlanta area that believes and trusts in the surpassing sufficiency of Christ, as evidenced in the power of the gospel. It is our great desire to see the gospel radically transform the hearts of people, leading to an authentically transformed life. It will be through a genuine cooperative effort of those changed lives that the communities of northwest Atlanta will see the reality and power of God.
Zack Carden 770.529.2600 ext. 4 My name is Zack Carden. I am the Assistant Pastor to Youth and Children at Christ Community Church. I was ordained to the gospel ministry in August of 2002 following 3 ½ years of training at Covenant Theological Seminary. My wife, Tennyson, and I have been married for 13 years and have four children: Seth (9), Talbott (8), Cole (6) and Halle (3). I have served previously for two years as the Assistant Pastor to Youth at Hope Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA and for 4 ½ years as the Assistant Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN. Before and during seminary I worked with elementary aged children in both afterschool programs and summer day camps through the YMCA and other organizations. While in seminary, I was also the youth director of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Wildwood, MO for two years. Though Chattanooga was where I was raised and where both my family and my wife’s family reside, we sensed a call to join the church family here at Christ Community. It is a privilege for us to work with the Children and Youth of the church alongside a number of volunteers with hearts to serve.
Josh Cuthbertson Worship Director 770.529.2600 My name is Josh Cuthbertson. I was hired as Christ Community’s Worship Director in January 2010. My wife, Aileen, and I have been married for 7 years and have two daughters: Hannah (5) and Maggie (3).
Our family has spent the past four and a half years in St. Louis, MO so that I could pursue further training from Covenant Theological Seminary. I am one class short of completing my Master of Arts in Educational Ministry (with a concentration in Worship), and will complete that final class within the upcoming year. Before seminary Aileen and I spent 3 years helping some good friends of ours plant Sand Harbor PCA church in Jupiter, FL. I led worship, and established the youth ministry, and Aileen was an integral part of the women’s ministry, youth ministry, and the church administration. Prior to our time in Florida Aileen and I were both involved in a wonderful campus ministry called Campus Outreach where we had many opportunities to grow in our faith, experience discipleship first-hand, and learn how to share our faith with the world around us.
Bonnie Lane Ministry Assistant 770.529.2600 ext. 5 bonnie@christcommunitycobb.org My name is Bonnie Lane. My husband, Jack, and I have been married for 12 years and have two boys – Daniel (9) and Christopher (7). I was born in Atlanta and have lived in Georgia my entire life. I came to know Christ as an adult when my husband and I started attending Christ Community Church a few years ago. After several visits, God began to reveal to me just how broken I was and my need for Christ. While I have been on staff for over a year, I am now serving in a new role as Ministry Assistant. The body of Christ Community Church has been instrumental in my spiritual journey, and I have a desire to support the health of the church, as well as spread the gospel to the local community. Assisting our ministry leaders enables me to fulfill this desire.
Sheena Dickerson Administrative Assistant 770.529.2600 ext. 0 My name is Sheena Dickerson. It has been a joy to become a part of the Christ Community Church family as administrative assistant in December 2009. Just a few months before, in October, my husband Michael and I ventured on to our second year of marriage as new homeowners in the Acworth/Kennesaw area. Coming from sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, we will surely miss the beach, and our friends, but are excited about what new experiences of living in Georgia will bring.
