 One of the best ways to get to know someone is to hear their story. Christ Community Church has its own story and God is still writing the script! In January 2000, God called Pastor Mike Glass and his family to begin raising the necessary resources to launch a new church in one of the fastest growing suburbs in the country and northwest Atlanta! The west Cobb area has grown over 200% since 1980 and rapid growth is expected to continue in the next 10 years. After five fruitful years of ministry on staff at Perimeter Church, Mike was sent out by Perimeter Church with the support of the Presbyterian Church in America and Perimeter Ministries International to start a new church. The PCA is one of the fastest growing denominations in the United States and Perimeter Ministries has almost 20 churches spread across metro Atlanta working in a cooperative effort to see greater Atlanta encounter the kingdom of God. The motto of Perimeter church is to "attempt something so great for God that it is doomed to fail unless God be in it." Well, that is exactly the conviction that Mike had as he envisioned this planting opportunity. In September 2000, Mike and his family moved to northwest Cobb County with hearts full of joy and anticipation for what God was going to do. After making some initial contacts, Mike began leading a bible study in his home, and both he and his wife began sharing the love of Christ with those in the community. They also began discipling men and women who felt called to be part of the church. In July 2001, God provided a much needed worship location for Christ Community at a local elementary school. In 2006, we were blessed again as He opened the door for us to move and begin meeting at the Kennesaw Community Center off Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw. Most recently, in August 2008, God provided the opportunity to purchase 8 acres of land in Kennesaw! We look forward to having our own facility to use for the service of the community and God's kingdom. As we meet each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for worship in the Kennesaw Community Center, we invite you to visit us and join us in seeing the gospel change the hearts and lives of Northwest Atlantans.
