1 Kings 17:7-24  -


I. Our greatest needs often run deeper than we realize.

A. We may actually stand outside of God’s Covenant.

B. We may have only superficial awareness of God Himself.


II. Our blessings can sometimes stand in the way of our spiritual growth

A. Our lives themselves are more important than mere material needs.

B. Our heart relationship with the Living God is the highest need that we have.


III. Our ultimate hope must rest in God’s faithfulness alone.

A. God is merciful to those who come to Him confessing their sin.

B. God provides forgiveness and new life through His Son’s identifying with us as He becomes our substitute.
