Weekly Confession - 9/4/2016

Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we too often think that knowledge begins with us instead of coming from You (Daniel 2:1-11).

We confess that we have little use for those who cannot meet our needs or demands (Daniel 2:12-13).

We confess that we struggle to show prudence and discretion when under pressure (Daniel 2:14-16).

We confess that we fail to ask others to pray for us in our time of need (Daniel 2:17-18).

We confess that we deny the blessing of Your sovereignty in the midst of mystery (Daniel 2:19-23).

We confess that we manipulate the gifts You have given us and take credit for the results that only You could give (Daniel 2:24-30).

We confess that we doubt that Your kingdom will never be destroyed and will rule over all earthly kingdoms (Daniel 2:31-49).

We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
