Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before You to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children.  May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we frequently trouble our own households with our selfish ambition and bitter jealousy (Proverbs 11:29).

We confess that as parents and children we often do not listen and speak to one another with wisdom, causing strife instead of joy in our families (Proverbs 23:24-25).

We confess that we are quick to settle for bitterness and disunity in our marriages rather than cultivating reconciliation and discipleship over the long haul (Proverbs 31:10-11).

We confess these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
