Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we frequently fail to put away the things that separate us and long for what You have provided to unite us through salvation in Christ (1 Peter 2:1-3).

We confess that we often stumble over Christ the Cornerstone instead of being built as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices in Christ  (1 Peter 2:4-10).

We confess that we regularly neglect to cultivate our witness by abstaining from the passions of the flesh and keeping our conduct honorable in the world for the life of the world (1 Peter 2:11-12).

We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
