Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we often make bold claims contrary to Your Word that we cannot accomplish in our own strength (Mark 14:26-31).

We confess that we forget the cost Jesus paid in drinking the cup of Your wrath so that we could drink the cup of the New Covenant (Mark 14:32-37).

We confess that we fail over and over again to watch and pray so that we may not enter into temptation (Mark 14:38-42).

We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
