Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that out of our selfishness we destructively betray our relationship with You and our relationships with our neighbors (Matthew 26:47-56).

We confess that we are all too willing to bear false witness, bend the truth, and lie in order to get what we want rather than obeying You and trusting in Your promises (Matthew 26:57-68).

We confess that we ignore your warnings, worry about what others think about us, and fall into sin rather than trusting in You (Matthew 26:69-75).

We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
