Weekly Confession of Sin: August 21st
Gracious and Merciful Father,
We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.
We confess that we too often think that everybody who gathers to pray and worship are already Christians and don’t need to hear the Gospel (Acts 16:11-15).
We confess that we at times are more concerned our means of gain over the advance of the mission of the Gospel (Acts 16:16-24).
We confess that we struggle to take joy and give praise in the midst of our suffering and persecution (Acts 16:25).
We confess that we fail to trust in Your ability to deliver us from difficult circumstances (Acts 16:26).
We confess that we don’t love our enemies and desire for them to become part of the household of faith (Acts 16-27- 34).
We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
Amen.
