Gracious and Merciful Father,                                                          

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we frequently disobey our parents because we do not believe that they are a gift from You for our good (Ephesians 6:1-3).

We confess that we frequently provoke our children to anger because we do not believe that You are using us to nourish them as Your disciples (Ephesians 6:4).

We confess that we often forget that You are our Master in heaven, and so in our vocations, we are often far more defined by selfishness, grumbling, and the fear of man, rather than by Your gracious Lordship (Ephesians 6:5-9).

We confess these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
