Dear Family at Christ Community,

     This Sunday we will celebrate God’s love for us in Christ from John 3:16-21. As part of our celebration, we will prayerfully send the Stock family to share God’s love in Malaysia. We will also receive the gift of Brian serving us the Lord’s Supper. The celebration of God’s love will continue with a picnic at Swift Cantrell Park following worship. In preparation for the Lord’s Table, please meditate on these words on John 3:16-21 from J.C. Ryle in Expository Thoughts on the Gospels, Volume 3: John 1:1-John 10:30:

“The truth before us is the very foundation-stone of the Christian religion. Christ’s death is the Christian’s life. Christ’s cross is the Christian’s title to heaven. Christ “lifted up” and put to shame on Calvary is the ladder by which Christians “enter into the holiest,” and are at length landed in glory. It is true that we are sinners;—but Christ has suffered for us. It is true that we deserve death;—but Christ has died for us. It is true that we are guilty debtors;—but Christ has paid our debt with His own blood. This is the real Gospel! This is the good news! On this let us lean while we live. To this let us cling when we die. Christ has been “lifted up” on the cross, and has thrown open the gates of heaven to all believers.”

     Come to worship this Sunday with great expectations of experiencing God’s love for you as already so gloriously displayed in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ! Come prepared to celebrate His faithfulness to us His people as we send the Stocks to proclaim His love in Kiara Lumpur! Come to have your faith and hope nourished through the Lord’s Table in the Holy Spirit!
