Dear Family at Christ Community,

This Sunday we will be invited to witness a fool’s last supper in Esther 6:14-7:6 as Haman continues his arrogant fall. It will serve to caution us against continuing in foolish sin and arrogance of heart; it will also welcome us to the Lord’s Table in wise repentance to taste the fruits of forgiveness eternally available to us in Jesus. The gift of the broken bread and the bottomless cup nourish us to walk in wisdom and humility as we diligently await Christ’s return and the marriage supper of the Lamb. In preparation, please consider the glorious description in Ephesians 1:7-10 of the awe-inspiring forgiveness that we have in Christ:

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth..

What could possibly keep us from wisely repenting and tasting of the fruits of forgiveness so lavishly offered in Christ? What does sin offer both now and not yet that is of greater value and benefit than forgiveness in Jesus? Why would we arrogantly refuse so hospitable an invitation from our Abba Father to taste and see of His eternal goodness to us His children? Please further prepare to dine at the Lord’s Table this Sunday by prayerfully considering these questions in light of Ephesians 1:7-10.  Come hungry for the fruits of forgiveness offered abundantly to us in the Lord’s Table!

In Christ,
Cameron
