Communion Letter: June 11th
Dear Family at Christ Community,
This Sunday we have been given the Divine invitation to participate in worship which will focus on Romans 15:1-7. As part of our worship, the Lord will offer us nourishment in the Spirit from His table. Consider Charles Spurgeon’s description of our condition as we initially came to Jesus by grace alone through faith alone in his Notes on Romans:
“Christ did not receive us because we were perfect, because he could see no fault in us, or because he hoped to gain somewhat at our hands. Ah, no! but, in loving condescension covering our faults, and seeking our good, he welcomed us to his heart; so, in the same way, and with the same purpose, let us receive one another.”
Remember that we continue to come to worship and the Lord’s Table not with great offerings but to receive the ongoing offer of God’s hospitable love to equip and edify us for His glory, the Church’s harmony, and the benefit of our neighbors. How good and gracious is our Abba Father to continue to welcome and provide for us!
Please come to the Lord’s Table on Sunday as a beloved child who comes to receive blessed nourishment to love God and love your neighbors!
In Christ,
Cameron
