Communion Letter: May 28th

Dear Family at Christ Community,
On Sunday, we are invited to grow in our understanding and experience of God’s love for us and our ability to love our siblings in Jesus as we have been loved through His death and resurrection. This invitation includes the opportunity to be nourished by the Lord’s Table in this endeavor. As part of our worship, Romans 14:13-19 will encourage us to intentionally and hospitably help our siblings in Jesus grow in the peace of reconciliation and mutual upbuilding into Christ’s image. John Murray in The Epistle to the Romans captures clearly what ought to govern our thinking and actions toward one another in this way:
“…since the death of Christ as the price of redemption for all believers is the bond of uniting them in fellowship, how contradictory is any behavior that is not patterned after the love which Christ’s death exhibited!”
Please join me in asking the Holy Spirit to tender our hearts towards one another because of Jesus’s tenderness toward us in His death. Ask the Spirit to convict you of where you may be hindering others from growing in Christ by how you’re living. Seek opportunities to hospitably help your siblings mature further into Jesus’s image in the power of Christ’s resurrection. Come ready to taste and see that the Lord continues to be good to us His people!
In Christ,
Cameron
