Hospitality Letter: Children's Ministry
Dear Family at Christ Community,
With the focus in Romans 14-15 on hospitality, we wanted to consider a variety of hospitality opportunities for us over the next few weeks.
This week we'll focus on Children's Ministry. This is a key area in which we serve the coming generations in teaching them of God's love for them in Christ and their opportunity to love Him and their neighbors in return.
Here are some ways that you can be hospitable to and through our Children's Ministry:
1. Serve. We have immediate needs in infants with other opportunities in toddlers, 3's-4's, and Sunday School for our older kids that will resume on Sunday, 8/13. If you're interested, please contact Bonnie Lane at:
bonnie@christcommunitycobb.org for more information and to sign up.
2. By serving in Children's Ministry, you have the opportunity to be hospitable to the children, their parents, and Bonnie, Emily, and Grace who serve on our Children's Ministry Team. When we have enough volunteers, everybody involved get to worship more regularly!
3. Minimize disrupting the classes. This is especially true of our infants and toddlers classes. When they see you or their parents, it makes it hard for them to settle into the class as they see what to them is a better option. This means that only those teaching that Sunday or a needed leader should be in the Children's Hall when classes are meeting.
4. Be hospitable to the children in serving, the lobby, and worship service. Learn their names. Welcome them as they are a gift entrusted to our church!
Thank you in advance for helping our church to become more hospitable!
Grace and Peace,
Cameron Barham
Lead Pastor
