Gracious and Merciful Father,

We come before you to confess our sin as Your redeemed and beloved children. May Your Spirit alone convict us of our sin and remind us of our pardon in Christ through repentance.

We confess that we often try to live by bread alone and are quick to forget about the means of grace that You generously provide to sustain us during times of hardship. (Deut. 8:1-10)

We confess that we tend to boast of our accomplishments and take credit for the blessings that You have graciously given us. (Deut. 8:11-18)

We confess that we all too often forget about You, our loving and faithful Father, and instead devote ourselves to idols and the pleasures of this world. (Deut. 8:19-20)

We confess all of these things before You because You are faithful to forgive us in Christ. Bless us with the assurance of our pardon by Your Holy Spirit in Christ alone by faith alone through Your grace alone from Your Word.
